Living Well, Every Day

Until recently we have been known as St David’s Nursing Home. Our trading name is now Lakeshore to align with our company name Lakeshore Healthcare to bring us into the future. The ownership, management and staffing remain unchanged.

Our nursing home is a standalone home surrounded by tranquil, landscaped gardens. Our beautiful home is found in Sheringham with easy access to the high street, beach, while offering excellent links to Cromer, Holt and Aylsham.

Our 35 well-appointed rooms have spacious living areas.

Our focus is on ensuring that each resident is ‘Living Well, Every Day.’

Quality Residential & Nursing Care

Lakeshore is committed to providing professional and personalised care and achieving high standards by assisting our residents in their choices and independence in all aspects of their life.

This may include bathing, toileting, dressing and eating, whilst enabling them to enjoy activities and experiences with each other, their family, and friends.

We have a team of our own experienced, registered nurses, fully competent in nursing adults and each with their own specialist expertise qualifying them to lead and support our student nurses, carers and family of staff at Lakeshore.

Stunning Location

Lakeshore truly feels like home, with expansive, beautifully maintained gardens and cozy interior spaces. Residents enjoy community activities that foster companionship and engagement, creating an atmosphere you can feel upon arrival.

We are located in Sheringham on the North Norfolk coast near Holt and Cromer. It is a 10 minute walk to the centre of Sheringham and the Bittern Line train station runs regular service between Sheringham, Cromer, North Walsham and Norwich. There is also a bus stop just across the street from the home.

Our residents can walk into town daily if they choose.

Nursing Care

Our qualified nurses provide 24-hour support alongside a friendly team of care assistants. Our staff retention limits the need for agency or temporary staff, facilitating deep connections between staff and residents

Weekly GP visits and our virtual ward partnership with Norfolk and Norwich Hospital mean residents can receive intravenous and hospital-level treatments safely in their own rooms, avoiding unnecessary transfers.

Respite Care

Lakeshore’s respite care is an optional service we provide for those who prefer a short-term stay with us. It’s also known as temporary care or “short stays”.

It can be an excellent option for many people either needing convalescent care after suffering a setback in health or wellbeing or an introduction to what life can be at its best for them in a nursing home.

Disability Care

Our experienced team supports residents with a wide range of physical and mobility needs. Trained nurses, carers, and therapists work together to maintain or improve independence and daily living skills.

With compassion and expertise, we focus on each person’s comfort, dignity and confidence. Ensuring everyone can live as actively and freely as possible.

Rehabilitation

Our rehabilitation service helps residents regain strength, confidence, and independence after illness, injury, or surgery. Each programme is tailored to personal goals, combining clinical expertise with encouragement.

Residents benefit from a calm, motivating environment designed to support recovery and promote an active return to everyday life.

“ Our findings confirmed people were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice. ”
