We believe in 'Living Well, Every Day

Many new residents are nervous about moving into a care home and their apprehension is often shared by their family too. We make the process as easy as possible by assessing the individual’s needs and wishes physically and holistically and work with both the individual and their family and advocates and friends to ensure that we understand the prospective resident’s wants, wishes and needs are central to their life and care planning at Lakeshore.

Residents at Lakeshore will be supported to live life as fully and independently as possible. Nothing is too much for our staff when it comes to the happiness of our residents. Socialising with other residents, families and the wider community will be made easy with our beautiful conservatory, bar and mini-kitchen and relaxing lounges. Our staff are always on hand to support residents in their activities and maximise everyone’s enjoyment.

Our landscaped gardens are the perfect place for outdoor activities or simply to relax in the north Norfolk sunshine. We encourage residents’ families to join in our varied events and activities including seaside outings with fish and chips on the front, live music, flower arranging, baking, arts and crafts and many others.

Events & Activities

We have a monthly coffee morning that is always inclusive of families and friends wherein a selection of coffees, teas and a selection of fresh-baked pastries and fruit are served by our activities team. Everyone is welcome to join us on the 1st Friday of every month from 10.00am.

We have two activity coordinators who along with residents develop our activity schedules including visiting performers and group activities. Of course, residents maintain their independence over which events they join and are supported to enjoy individual pursuits.

All activities are fully supported by our experienced care teams and nursing staff, removing any barriers to participation. Popular options include:

  • Cooking & Baking
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Flower Arranging
  • Special Occasion Parties
  • Watching live music
  • Pub-themed afternoons
  • Tending summer plantings such as tomatoes and strawberries.

Every Sunday our residents gather for Sing For Joy, a non-denominational service of the residents choosing is held at 2:00pm usually followed by a pianist playing songs of your choice. A selection of drinks and refreshments are available, and everyone is welcome to join us.

Read more about recent activities in our Newsletters or visit us on FaceBook.

Mealtimes

We’re very proud of our food and our chefs and catering team.  A positive mealtime experience is key to our residents’ mental and physical wellbeing. We use fresh local produce on a daily basis and will serve both traditional and cosmopolitan options too, tailored to the seasons. Each day there is a menu choice of three options, if none are to an individual’s taste we will always offer an alternative. Lakeshore holds a five-star rating certificate. Specialised dietary requirements are always available with many different options and choices available.

For special family occasions, for instance birthdays and anniversaries residents can choose a menu of the day and family and friends are invited to join them. We also offer wines and beer and many of our residents enjoy a ‘tipple’.
