Services We Provide

Lakeshore is renowned for the quality of care our dedicated staff provide. The happiness and wellbeing of residents is at the heart of everything we do, and we strive to provide enriching, person-centred activities for everyone. We are proud to offer nursing, residential and respite care in a beautiful and well-designed setting.

When you choose to live at Lakeshore, we will discuss your specific needs. We will also ask you how you would like your room decorated and if you would like to bring any special items of furniture.

One of our nurses will be dedicated to taking on the special responsibility for overseeing your medical and care needs and developing an individual plan of care to meet all of your requirements.

Nursing Care

These are often needs that cannot be managed at home or in a care home. At Lakeshore, our nursing care is led by our own exceptionally trained Registered General Nurses (RGNs). Our RGNs have extensive practice in nursing adults providing a full range of clinical care and treatments for a very wide range of medical conditions that require specialist care and monitoring. The RGNs are supported by well-trained care staff who work to support and enhance resident outcomes whilst giving kind, empathetic, and person-centred care to everyone.

We take the time to get to know each resident to ensure that their medical and quality of life needs are met. Their social and emotional needs are equally important, which means we treat every resident with the respect and validation they deserve.

We work with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital enabling us to protect residents by delivering ‘Virtual Ward’ care.

This allows our RGNs to provide more critical care treatment that would otherwise require a hospital admission. This can include intravenous care, oxygen therapy and close monitoring of vital signs. These wards have been crucial in allowing residents to receive medical care in their own home and allowing family and friends to visit at any time and reduce the need for hospital admissions, giving our residents a greater choice in their care.

Here at Lakeshore our scope of nursing practice includes Phlebotomy, RIG & PEG care, wound care, catheter care, care of drains and many other specialities with updated practice and close links to the hospital specialist teams.

Respite Care

Lakeshore’s respite care is an optional service we provide for those who prefer a short-term stay with us. It’s also known as temporary care or “short stays”. It can be an excellent option for many people either needing a break from their regular routine or an introduction to what life may look like for them in a care home.

Our tailor-made approach means we match the experience to the resident. Our team of highly trained and qualified nurses and carers have the expert knowledge and skills to ensure their stay is enjoyable and caters to their specific requirements.

We can facilitate elongated stays should someone wish to stay longer than their original request.

Respite care often involves convalescent care. We understand how hard it is to provide ongoing care, and our respite care services can provide a critical break for those caring for frail loved ones who need convalescent care after suffering a setback in health or wellbeing.

Our respite residents enjoy the same top-quality services we provide all our residents, such as home-cooked food, comfortable surroundings, fun activities, and a friendly, unobtrusive, and supportive team to offer discreet assistance should it be required. We create a warm, welcoming atmosphere where our residents feel supported and cared for, irrespective of how short or long the duration of their stay is. Family and friends can pop in to visit at any time.

Palliative Care

We believe in living life to the end and bringing joy to patients’ lives. The care and treatment available at Lakeshore provides the ultimate combination of sensitivity and compassion required for specialised end-of-life care.

We care deeply about providing people with choice and we work with everyone as an individual, supporting them and their loved ones on every step of their journey.

Rehabilitation

The aim of our rehabilitation service is to help people achieve a more active lifestyle and return home. We have considerable experience in this area. Lakeshore has offered short and longer term rehabilitation for several years. We are also open to providing appropriate complimentary therapies.

We are able to coordinate requested therapy such as reflexology, aromatherapy and massage therapy.
